my perspective

Adrift

Everything is beautiful and I am so sad.
This is how the heart makes a duet of
wonder and grief. The light spraying
through the lace of the fern is as delicate
as the fibers of memory forming their web
around the knot in my throat. The breeze
makes the birds move from branch to branch
as this ache makes me look for those I’ve lost
in the next room, in the next song, in the laugh
of the next stranger. In the very center, under
it all, what we have that no one can take
away and all that we’ve lost face each other.
It is there that I’m adrift, feeling punctured
by a holiness that exists inside everything.
I am so sad and everything is beautiful.

everything is beautiful,

and I Am so sad . . .

What do we make of thIS paradox of living,
especially in these deeply consequential times?

How do we orient ourselves in a world that can feel mis-attuned to our very natures? In what ways has living in this world, in our culture, within our families of origin or our chosen families, conditioned us to operate outside of our values, needs, or desires in known and unknown ways?

Do we even remember what we might need, or truly value? Do we feel safe enough to let ourselves know what we really desire - because even if we could know - how do we imagine moving toward the subtle, aching cues that might unsettle us, when so much in our lives is already unsettled, full of endless adjustments or change?

Perhaps it all just feels too overwhelming to look at directly, but the nagging sensations continue to tug, and the heartmind is distracted, restless, obsessive, or listless.

Or maybe the issues arising are so consuming it’s as if nothing else exists beyond that burning centrality emerging out of the urgency of new growth, loss, or sudden demands.

We live in a solar culture, and yet much of the way our
soul reveals itself to us echoes instead the night-blooming flower.

And whether we journey out of curiosity or necessity, following the call to self knowledge can feel like pushing away from a familiar shore into the misty expanse of the unknown. No one can really tell us who we are becoming as we drift and unfurl, but with encouragement and support we can begin learning the practices that return us again and again to ourselves. And, over time, we build a spaciousness inside that allows for more access to the reciprocity developing between our inner and outer worlds.

It takes courage! And a companion.

Engaging with the empowering model of Depth Hypnosis offers us an opportunity to practice a sacred kind of self-tending as we gently approach the mysteries of our internal world through a light meditative state. We drop in to the living web of our unconscious experience where we are able to safely witness and engage with the images, memories, sensations, dreams, and patterns animating our lives. We can articulate and unwind longstanding constellations motivating us in the background so as to stand more directly in the center of our life, acting in alignment with a deepening relationship to our needs, values, and desires. Who we are becoming will continue to shift and change, but when we orient ourselves to the work of self-connection we can traverse the inevitable cycles of contraction and expansion with a sense of trust and purposefulness.

More than ever, the world needs our consciousness, presence, and action.
as we begin to re-inhabit ourselves, we become more available to contribute our
energy, gifts, and visions to the considerable challenges of this time.
